Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge #16

This is my first time participating in this challenge. I think it's a great way to get my creative juices going. I recently started reading the Twilight series and when I came across the Twilight Tuesday blog, I couldn't resist joining in.

This weeks challenge was..

Comment Portion: What song/music do you think of when you think about Twilight? Is there a song that just screams ‘Twilight!’ to you? Why?
Crafter’s Portion: Music is an important element in Twilight. Let the music from the book or the movie inspire you.

When I think of music that makes me think of Twilight, I automatically go to Paramore's song, "Decode", which I absolutely LOVE! But I also think of the plot line in Twilight where Edward plays his lullaby for Bella for the first time. What an awesome moment in the story. It truely shows how emotionally connected Edward is with Bella that he would be moved to compose a piano piece for her. That moment in the book definately makes my heart flutter.

During my crafting today, I was listening to my iPod. I came across 2 songs today that screamed Twilight. "Broken" by Seether and Amy Lee, if you listen to the lyrics it almost would describe how Bella felt during New Moon when Edward left. The other song was "Bring Me To Life" by Evanescense and it reminded me of Breaking Dawn where Bella was finally coming to after being changed into a vampire.

Out of curiosity recently, I was browsing the internet and came across the sheet music for Bella's Lullaby. As a piano player myself, I printed it out and it's just been hanging out in my office. So when this Twilight music challenge came up, I knew I had to do something with this music. So for my "creative" portion of the challenge, I created a folder to house the music for Bella's Lullaby. What I created was quite a departure from what I normally make... typically just cards and scrapbook pages. So this was quite the challenge (pardon the pun). I'm satisfied with the results, but moreover I enjoyed how this challenge has pushed me to think a little harder about what I'm creating.

Why Semper Papercrafting?

This blog is my opportunity to showcase my creative side. I enjoy several hobbies which include: scrapbooking, card making and crocheting. I have been scrapbooking since 1998 and have become much better over the years. Cardmaking/Stamping is relatively new to me. I am hoping this blog gives me a chance to challenge myself to become a better papercrafter.

So, you may wonder, why is your blog called Semper Papercrafting? The word "semper" is a Latin word meaning "always" and it is used several mottos of the US military branches (USCG = Semper Paratus/Always Ready; US Marines = Semper Fi/Always Faithful). As a proud military wife, I'm using it as my motto: Semper Papercrafting/Always Papercrafting, since I find myself frequently doing the forementioned crafts.
